We are happy to be one of the first Key West events in 2008 to go GREEN. The Seafood Festival committee contacted the company Trellis Earth and they came on board as a Captain Plus sponsor. We  also used a company called Eco-products. Inc. to provide us with other items that Trellis Earth does not carry. These bioplastic plates, cups, and cutlery are a new generation of biodegradable and compost-able plastics derived from renewable raw materials such as starch (from corn, potato, and tapioca) cellulose, soy protein, prophylactic acid, not hazardous in production, and decompose back to carbon dioxide, water, biomass in the environment when discarded.  The compost in 45 days.
